Back Benefits Dispute 3 Years, 11 Months ago
I have been approved for Social Security disability but they are refusing to pay my back benefits because they claim that I was receiving workers compensation benefits during this time period, but I was not. What can I do to resolve this matter?

Patty,

Sometimes inaccurate information is supplied to Social Security concerning "other" benefits received by claimants during the pendency of their claims. In order to resolve this problem, it will be necessary to obtain proof directly from the workers compensation carrier that you have not yet received any benefits from them. You will need to provide this proof to the appropriate Social Security Administration office that handles the evaluation of "offsets" after an award has been made. This matter can be resolved with some time and effort. If you have any further questions, please feel free to contact me.
