Lisa Wagman I am not certain that I understand the question. If when you say "follow up", you mean "file for" SS benefits, you are en_title_d to file for either _title_ II disability benefits or _title_ XXI SSI benefits up until the age of 65. You must prove that you have severe medical or mental impairments that prevent you from being able to work, and that these impairments will prevent you from working for at least 12 months or longer.



Once you have turned 65, you can file for early retirement benefits if you have earned enough credits throughout your working lifetime to be eligible.
