Lisa Wagman Margie, Medicare kicks in 29 months from the date you are found disabled. For instance, if your onset date is 1/1/06, Medicare would kick in 29 months later, or 6/1/08. About a month prior to the date Medicare kicks in, they will send you a package with your card, the Medicare coverage booklet and instructions about which parts of Medicare you will need to receive.
Margie I have just won my disability benefits. I am supposed to be getting Medicare along with it. Can you tell me when the Medicare starts?
